Kyra Minton was born in the city of New York. She is an American actor. She is well-known all over the globe, but is most famously in America for her lead role in the TV show 'The Closer'. Sedgwick was fascinated by performing, art and Broadway from the time she was 12. Her mother was very attracted to Broadway, and she introduced the show to her. Sedgwick was only 16 when she made her professional acting debut on the show 'Another World. The first TV roles she had were not big, however she was much more attracted to becoming an established actor. Her debut big screen performance was in a film called 'Born on the Fourth of July where she starred alongside Tom Cruise. Following the popularity of the movie, Sedgwick got more roles in films such as "Singles," "Heart & Souls", 'Phenomenon' among others. She worked in a TV film called 'Lemon sky in which she got to know her actor husband Kevin Bacon and got married to him when she was just 22. Sedgwick made a mark in the history of American television with her effortless performing in The Closer, which was on for seven seasons and earned her numerous high-profile awards such as the Golden Globe and Emmy.
